The Minimum Cost Housing Group (MCHG) at McGill University School of Architecture is a research unit focused on solving the housing challenges of impoverished communities worldwide. Since the early 1970s, the MCHG team has participated in several action-research initiatives. Their research covered construction materials, small building components, low-cost sanitation and servicing systems, human settlements planning, and urban agriculture, in both the global South and the global North.
